Construction Litigation
Our firm represents all defense interests in the complex area of construction accident litigation, including owners, general contractors, construction managers and subcontractors. We have been principal counsel engaged to coordinate liability prevention and defenses under the Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) model and are also well-versed in the Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) model. Our experience encompasses claims from routine slip and fall accidents at construction sites to more complex claims involving building structural and systems design.
Construction litigation requires an advanced understanding of the overriding contractual issues always in play. Ricci Tyrrell Johnson & Grey has experience in both prosecuting and defending indemnity and insurance claims, evaluating forum selection and arbitration clauses, and pursuing defenses based on employer/workers’ compensation issues, including the borrowed servant doctrine and the statutory employer doctrine.
At the heart of a successful defense to a construction litigation matter is a rapid investigation on site and accumulation and preservation of available evidence. Ricci Tyrrell attorneys are ready and able to provide their clients with immediate response to their needs in this area.
