Mike Droogan is a Member of Ricci Tyrrell Johnson & Grey. During his career, Mr. Droogan has tried more than 35 trials and over 275 arbitrations to verdict in three states (NJ, NY and PA). He has also argued cases to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the Pennsylvania Superior Court.
When self-insureds, TPAs and insurers are confronted with complex, difficult and catastrophic claims, Mr. Droogan is often the first person they call for legal advice and counsel, whether it is to resolve a case or try it successfully to verdict. Mr. Droogan has been retained in cases ranging from products liability, tractor trailer and heavy vehicle collisions, motor vehicle and motor cycle accidents, commercial and residential fires, medical malpractice, optometric malpractice, bad-faith claims, construction defect litigation, utility company liability, liquor liability commercial lease disputes, insurance coverage, hospitality industry liability and premises liability.
In addition to representing clients after suit is filed, Mr. Droogan has a 24/7 rapid response protocol for motor vehicle accidents, work-place incidents and fires, which allows for multiple disciplines of expertise to immediately respond to an event only hours after it occurs. Mr. Droogan has participated in countless accident reconstructions and dug out many fire scenes.
Growing up as the son of a jack-of-all trades, whether it was the repair of cars, trucks or machines, as well as residential construction, gave Mr. Droogan a hands-on education that he applies to the defense of product manufacturers, and construction and utility companies. He has defended manufacturers of cars, trucks, trailers, cranes, aerial lifts, hoists, water pumps, water filters, pool filters, building materials, residential and commercial windows and doors, and ice machines. Mr. Droogan has also represented utility companies, road construction companies, traffic control companies and commercial and residential building contractors, sub-contractors and component manufacturers.
Mr. Droogan is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, as well as the District of New Jersey and the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania. He has been licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania since November 1989. Additionally, Mr. Droogan has been admitted pro hac vice in states and commonwealths across the country.
Mr. Droogan holds an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest possible peer review rating for ethics and legal ability. Mr. Droogan has also been selected as a Top Attorney in America, as well as to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® list and is a Philadelphia Magazine Top Lawyer in Philadelphia for civil defense litigation. Mr. Droogan graduated from Gettysburg College in 1984 and from Delaware Law School of Widener University in 1989.
Personal
Between college and law school, he worked in consumer product sales. Outside of the practice of law, Mr. Droogan has been published in both fiction and non-fiction.
Mr. Droogan played football at C.B. West for the legendary Mike Pettine, Sr., from whom he learned many gridiron lessons that he applies to the courtroom. Mr. Droogan has skied “The Peak” at Big Sky and the outer reaches of the Blue Sky Basin. He has golfed at Pine Valley, Whistling Straits and Merion.
Mr. Droogan resides in Haverford Township, Delaware County, PA, with his wife and three children.
